Clay In Mosaics: Tiles and Elements

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 - 7:00pm to Tuesday, July 18, 2017 - 9:30pm

In this 8-week class, taught by award winning artist and CMS Founder Karen Ami, students will be inspired to create unique clay forms and surfaces with hand-formed tiles and elements that can be incorporated into the mosaic process. Examples of the tile making techniques will be demonstrated and students will have the opportunity to experiment with different textural and detailing methods. Basic glazing, firing techniques and an elemental discussion of adhesives and substrates for mosaic applications will be covered. Students will receive handouts and are expected to bring a sketchbook and notebook to each class session. All materials, supplies and use of tools provided.
