Cello Faculty member

The New Music School is looking for a dedicated cello teacher for our beginning and intermediate students. We aim to provide the finest music instruction in Chicago and beyond by offering a comprehensive, unconstrained and engaging music learning experience delivered by world-class faculty with maximum convenience and affordability.

Through our mission, our objective is to see our students' path shaped by their learning in a natural way rather than the traditional tendency to force them into an artificial mold. We believe this approach is key in realizing everyone's highest potential, and the only way to sustain a positive, life-long passion for music.


This position is for teaching private and group cello for students in the 3-5 age range, intermediate students and adult students. Must establish a firm foundation with the fundamentals of the Suzuki method with all young students. 

Skills & Qualifications: 

ECC and Suzuki Book 2 minimum, up to book 10 preferred. 

Ability to work in a busy music school. 

Must have strong skills in managing schedule and track lessons. 

Ability to work with others, including String Department Coordinator, a must.


Students and 1 group class available on Tuesday. 

Available to start teaching immediately
