Design Dance is seeking a Hip Hop Dance Instructor to lead and facilitate a set of Hip Hop Dance daytime programs at a number of partner schools this spring. Interested candidates must have Hip hop Dance training and 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferrably with youth students.
Design Dance was founded in 2008 out of a drive to bring dance and the arts to students throughout the Chicagoland area through unique, collaborative partnerships with schools and community centers. Our programming is designed to build courage, connection and self-awareness through innovative curriculum, a dedicated teaching staff and a commitment to meeting the needs of the communities we serve. Each student, regardless of ability level, is empowered to better express themselves and share stories through movement, performance and collaboration.
The Hip Hop Dance Instructor will be responsible for collaborating on the creation of Hip Hop Dance programming for elementary and middle school students. This teaching artist must have experience providing high quality Hip Hop Dance instruction that covers a range of Hip Hop dance styles.
Over the course of the program, this instructor will find areas to blend dance with Hip Hop culture, exposing students the the rich history behind the genre. This instructor will also create and teach original choreography, incuding student input where necessary, for their groups to learn and perform at the conclusion of the program.

The Hip Hop Dance Instructor must be available for weekly daytime classes starting in Feb 2019 / March 2019 through the end of May 2019 or the start of June 2019.
