Office Manager

Candor Arts LLC is seeking an experienced, highly organized and responsible office manager, who is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), to join our growing Publishing business. In this position, you will develop efficient and cost-effective organizational processes and systems for invoicing, billing, and expenses, as well as demonstrating your expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including payroll and taxes.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain highly organized and updated files

  • Request, collect, and compile all necessary tax documents

  • Review corporate and personal income tax returns

  • Advise business owners regarding the tax code

  • Process state and federal payroll taxes

  • Process payments and books

  • Generate billing statements and reports

  • Review and reconcile the general ledger regularly

  • Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions

  • Help with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits

  • Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively

  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times

  • Maintain constant communication with IRS and Illinois State Agencies

  • Developing business plans and strategies to align with company goals

  • Implementing recommendations to improve processes and procedures

  • Monitoring company resources

  • Assist in estimating and establishing cost parameters, and budgets

  • Reviewing financial reports to improve budgets and annual operating costs

  • Adhering to legal guidelines and local, state, and federal laws

  • Manage scheduling, budgeting, and payroll

  • Ensure that all items are invoiced and paid on time

Skills & Qualifications: 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing

  • Quickbooks ProAdvisor certification preferred

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a CPA

  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases

  • Familiarity with financial statements

  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills

  • Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details

  • Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers

  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding phone and email etiquette

  • Self-motivated and self-directed
