Stage Management Internship

Description:

Stage Management Interns are assigned to one venue for the duration of the Chicago Fringe Festival (August 30 – September 10, 2017). These interns run tech rehearsals and performances and work closely with the performing groups to make sure set-up and tear down happens in the allotted time frame. Stage Management Interns report to the Production Manager.

Time Commitment:

The Stage Management Interns begin training during August, with exact times to be solidified at a later date. Festival commitment is approximately August 28 – September 12, 2017. During the Festival timeframe, interns must have weekday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday availability.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Currently receiving or recently received a college degree in technical theatre or theatre administration/management
  • A desire to work with a non-profit organization
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive as part of a larger team
  • Familiarity with basic sound, projection and lighting equipment/operation Background in theatre/tech a plus
